A week before 9th May 2016, my dear sister asked
me for a favour, which was to meet her at Northpoint Bizhub - located at Yishun
Industrial area and to be free for at least 3.5 hours that day. Just hearing
that felt suspicious and besides, I had no idea what she wanted me to do so I
was a bit hesitant. I already had plans in the morning, so I knew that even if
I agreed, I would be late. This was not the first time she asked for my presence
HAHA I think it was her third time asking since I kept rejecting her the first
two times so it kind of seems bad on my side, so I hesitantly agrees – by saying
that I’ll go but no promises made.
I was supposed to meet my sister at the Bizhub place at 12 Noon
on May 9th; however, I was late. Lucky for me, I’ve informed her and
she was able to make her necessary arrangements. When I reached the place, she
wanted me to go to a shop there that sells wedding gowns and wedding decors; which
was not weird at all because she just got engaged so I thought maybe she wanted
to have a look at those dresses or something. But no. She was there for her
make up class. And that was the story of how I became her guinea pig – make-up
and hair.
I must say, her skills are on point and it was a decent overall
make up (for a wedding make up). Just that the make-up was extremely heavy and
cakey (after a while) I hated it but that was expected since it was wedding
themed. Hair was crazy in the end; crazy in the sense that it was outside my
comfort zone. I’ve never done “big hair” before so it got me on my toes. Her mentor
was there as well, and they used a lot of hairspray. I was really worried about
my hair and kept wondering how I am suppose wash them out. They also used fake
hair to get the extra push or volume – which explains the difference in hair
colour (My hair: coloured. Fake hair: black.) And lots and lots of bobby pins
and heavy hair accessories. In the end, I was satisfied with their service J Thank you.
